8 week beginners potter's wheel throwing evening courses – £295
LEVEL 1: Beginners (no or little experience)
• AGE RANGE: 18+
• CLASS SIZE/TEACHERS/INFO: Max 6 students & 2 teachers*.
*Please note that there is usually only 1 teacher for the turning classes.
• COST: £295 per person incl. all materials & firings. No hidden costs and you get to glaze and fire ALL your work.

• DAYS/TIMES: Monday/Tuesday/Thursday evenings 6.45-9pm.
This fantastic 8 week beginners potter’s wheel course runs on Monday/Tuesday evenings!!
It’s a great grounding for anyone who is serious about learning to throw. It is for adults 18+.
The course structure is as follows:
1. Centring and making basic cylinders: Centring is the most difficult thing to master when learning to throw on the wheel. It is what keeps a pot symmetrical. The first session is really just getting to grips with the technique.
2. Centring and drawing up clay into taller cylinders: Again, working on the centring and how the clay is drawn up. This session helps with pressures and speed.
3. Centring and drawing up clay into taller cylinders: Again, working on the centring and how the clay is drawn up but progressing on to larger pieces.
4. Turning cylinder bases.
5. Centring and making bowls: During this session you will continue with mastering your centring and getting more control of the shapes you are making. We will look at rounded bowls and open bowls.
6. Centring and making bowls: Continuing with bowls and progressing on to larger pieces.
7. Finishing off all turning work.
8. Glaze all work

• WHY IS THE LAST CLASS 2-3 WEEKS AFTER WEEK 7? The reason for this is that your work needs to dry and then be fired up to bisque before it can be glazed. This usually takes between 2-3 weeks.
• REFUNDS: 20 full working days (Monday-Friday) for a full refund. Between 20 full working days & the start of the class in advance then you will only get a 50% refund if someone else can be found to replace you. We will always do our best to try and sell your ticket on. All refunds are minus Eventbrite fees which are non-refundable. Cancelations may be subject to an admin fee of £50. REFUNDS for groups of 3 or larger require 25 working days notice as it can be really difficult to sell on large numbers of tickets close to the date of the class. There are no transfers available for groups of 3 or larger.
• CHANGING DATES OF YOUR CLASS: To transfer to a different date you must give 20 working days notice. You are bound by the above refund terms. We only allow one transfer per ticket.
