NEW FOR THE SUMMER! This new beginners and all levels combined hand building and throwing on the wheel weekend course will give you a great grounding in pottery if you are a beginner and take you to the next level if you already have some experience. Adults 18+ only.

Maximum 8 students with up to 3 teachers so you will get loads of one to one time.

• Friday, Saturday & Sunday 10.30am-4.30pm with an additional 3 and a quarter hour glazing session once the work has all been fired.

• A less structured course than some of our others. It allows you the freedom to explore and develop at your own pace. It also allows you to really get into a project without having to pack everything up after 2 hours.

• You will be taught to throw on the wheel & hand building techniques such as coiling, pinching, working with slabs & nerikomi.

• You will be encouraged to put your ideas down on paper and use them to come up with projects based on the techniques you have learnt.

• You will have time to up your skills on either the wheel, hand building or a bit of both. You decide how to break up your day.

• Improvers/intermediates will work with the tutors to develop your skills using the  techniques you are most interested in developing your own projects and working from our set projects.

• Finishing with a glaze class once all your work has been fired.

There are no restrictions on how much clay you can use or how many pots you can fire. No nasty surprises at the end!

NEW FOR THE SUMMER! These one day workshops are for beginners+ and intermediate students. Looking to work with larger pieces of clay you should be able to centre around 750g-1kg of clay.  Adults 18+ only.

We will be offering two different workshops:
Plates suitable for beginners+/intermediate: Centring requirements: 750g-1kg. Looking at a range of different styles of plates from flat with edges to those with flanges

Large bowls suitable for beginners+/intermediate: Centring requirements 1kg. We will be looking at different centring techniques as we increase the amount of clay to make larger bowls.

Maximum 6 students with up to 2 teachers so you will get loads of one to one time.

• Saturdays 10.30am-4.30pm.

• You will start with smaller pieces of clay and work through to bigger pieces during the course of the day.

• Your work will be fired to bisque as is but should you want to turn the bases this can be arranged during an untutored practice session at a charge of £40 for 2 hours.

• Glazing can be arranged for a future date at a charge of £30 per hour.
